Ceremony Offerings
Ceremonies and rituals can be created for various events in one's life: birth, death, divorce, changing of careers, break-ups, moving from homes, birthdays, etc. Our society has traditional ways of celebrating some of these events, while others are often overlooked. Through ceremony/ritual we can transition through various events in our lives while allowing ourselves a place for deep emotional connection and support.
What is the difference between a ceremony and a ritual?
Although ceremonies and rituals do overlap, I do see some differences, and that is why I used both words. To me, a ceremony connotes something more traditional (wedding, baptism, funeral). While having elements of ritual, a ceremony often has more than one person involved with its intent. A ritual, is an event used to process any event, either an individual experience (moving, changing jobs, letting go of behavior that no longer serves, etc.), or a collective event. I guess, the way I am differentiating ceremony and ritual is that ceremony tends to take place with more than one person and is more traditional, while a ritual can take place with one or more people and can be used for any event you would like assistance moving through.
Preparation:
In order to prepare for the creation of a ceremony/ritual specifically designed for you, we will sit together and discover the symbols and emotions resting below the surface of your everyday experience. From these insights a powerful, meaningful ceremony or ritual will be created utilizing the symbols we have discovered together. Usually this process takes from 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
The Ceremony or Ritual:
It is a great value to be witnessed, and a high honor to be asked to witness. With this in mind, it is suggested that you invite people to your ceremony or ritual who will support you in your transition, and honor the depths and value of your journey. Choose people who will whole-heartedly say, "YES, I support you!" Every ritual or ceremony will be different because each of our lives are different and unique, and the symbols we associate with different experiences vary greatly. In the time between the preparation session and the actually ceremony we will talk to discuss specifics about how the ceremony or ritual will take place.
